COIL STOCK -There are heavy-gauge aluminum seamless gutters and lighter-gauge. This is the thickness of the materials being used and will dictate how long your gutters will last or hold up to the occasional test of ladder dings, branches, etc. When installing your new gutters, we will always strive to use heavier-gauge metal. Guttermans Choice. Many companies will use a lower grade.
CORNER MITERS – The corners of your gutters are the most vulnerable parts of your new water discharge system. There are 3 methods for corners. Box miters, strip miters, and handcrafted miters. We choose handcrafted for a very good reason. Box and strip miters are available these days, allowing companies to quickly assemble them, finish your project, and get on to the next one. It's easy for installers to perform as well. However, is quick and fast really the way to go? Hand miters are the original craft. It is a fold and tab technique that, when built correctly, outperforms the other two methods, and that is why we use it. Box and miter strips have multiple seams and screws where leaks can begin and grow. Hand mitered corners have less screws fand only 1 seam and that means less places for failure.
It also has a much aesthetically pleasing look. So let's see, less leaking, and looks great. After all, isn’t that why the gutter industry went seamless in the first place?
RIVETS - NO SCREWS - Downspout Connections are made with rivets instead of screws for a much cleaner look but the main benefit is that there are no screws protruding into the downspout cavity. Screws are the beginning of the bridging process where pine needles and leaves start getting caught and then begin clogging the exit. Not that rivets will always eliminate clogs, but it's just an extra little step we take to keep you from getting up on that ladder so frequently.
